What the comp matter holds, where it stops, and how it fits your state.

Which states does Legasus work for?

Workers' comp matters work in any state; the fields aren't tied to one system. The starter templates follow California practice (DWC-1, AME/QME panels, WCAB filings), and starter claim-deadline rules ship for Illinois, California, New York, Texas, and Florida. Your firm can edit the task, deadline, and calendar templates and add rules for your own state.

Does Legasus calculate average weekly wage or benefit rates?

No. You record the wage, how it's paid, and the average weekly wage your team settles on, along with whether TTD is being paid. The AWW shows on the matter's finances. Legasus doesn't compute compensation rates or track individual benefit checks.

Can we track IMEs and MMI?

Yes. On the Providers page each provider has a case role (authorized, a one-time change by the claimant or the employer/carrier, unauthorized, E/C IME, or claimant IME), a treatment status including MMI, the MMI date, the PIR, and any permanent restrictions, plus records and billing requests. The exams themselves go on the calendar like any other event.

How do we handle a denied benefit?

Open the Disputed Benefit page. Choose the benefit in dispute (medical care, TTD, or TPD) and answer whether the demand was sent, whether the benefit was denied, whether a motion was filed, and whether the issues are resolved. Each yes opens its dates: when the demand went out, when and by whom it was denied, and when the motion was filed, with the pretrial and hearing dates.

What happens when a comp matter moves to litigation?

Legasus proposes three tasks: file the Application for Adjudication, prepare the Declaration of Readiness to Proceed, and set the claims adjuster's deposition, each with a due date counted from the phase change. They wait as proposals until someone approves them; nothing is added on its own.

Can we generate letters and forms from our own templates?

Yes. Each workers' comp page has a place to generate documents from your firm's templates, filled from the matter. Correspondence keeps onboarding documents and client letters, each with a Spanish folder, plus defense and doctor correspondence. Legasus doesn't ship state forms; you bring the templates you already use.

Do liens and the settlement reach the firm's finances?

Yes. The final settlement, case costs, co-counsel fee, and lien amounts roll up on the matter's Finances page with the average weekly wage and projected settlement, and a link takes you to post the settlement to the firm's settlements.

Can a workers' comp lead come in through intake?

Yes. Mark the lead's practice area as Workers Compensation and converting it opens a preview of the new matter: its phase and state, the starter tasks, a claim-deadline draft with its citation, and the starter calendar events. You edit the preview before the matter is created.
