Can it read scanned medical records?
Yes. Pages with a text layer are read directly, and scanned pages are read in-app. Long records are read as a job that picks up where it left off, so a large scan doesn't have to finish in one pass. Documents marked sealed or attorney-only are skipped.
Does the AI decide what the records mean?
No. It proposes only what it can quote from a specific page, and an attorney accepts or rejects each item. Treatment gaps, visit counts, and totals are calculated in code from accepted entries, not by the AI. Drafts mark anything missing as to be confirmed, and the Panel labels whether a point is documented in the record, a treating provider's opinion, or its own inference.
How are gaps in treatment found?
Legasus sorts accepted visits by date across every provider and flags any stretch longer than 30 days between one visit and the next, with the provider on each side. It also shows the first and last treatment dates, the days from the incident to first treatment, and visits by provider.
Does Legasus track certificate of merit or notice-of-intent deadlines?
Not automatically. The statute date can be entered by hand or computed from your firm's statute rules, and an attorney verifies it. Certificate or affidavit of merit, notice of intent, screening panel, and discovery-rule dates vary by state, so add them to the matter's calendar yourself. How are medical records handled?
