Which family law matters does Legasus support?
Legasus has a dedicated Family Law matter type with nine subtypes: Divorce / Dissolution, Legal Separation, Parentage / Paternity, Parenting / Custody, Child Support, Post-Judgment Modification, Enforcement / Contempt, Relocation, and General Family Law. Work outside those, such as a prenuptial agreement or an adoption, opens as General Family Law; there is no dedicated adoption or prenuptial workflow today.
Does Legasus calculate child support or maintenance?
No. You enter the result from your guideline worksheet and attach the worksheet. Legasus saves each support scenario, such as your client's proposal, the other side's proposal, or a temporary order, and never recomputes a saved one. The AI can list which inputs are on record and which are missing, but it does not produce a support figure.
How does Legasus track each side's claims about property?
Every asset and debt has separate fields for what your client claims and what the other party claims, plus a classification status of Unassessed, Agreed, Disputed, or Ordered. Competing valuations are recorded side by side and never overwritten, and the settlement allocation and the final ordered allocation are kept apart from both proposals.
Can the AI read court orders?
Yes. The Order analyzer reads an order you upload and proposes structured terms, deadlines, and obligations. Each proposal waits in a review queue where you accept, edit, or reject it, and nothing becomes part of the matter until you accept it. Other skills compare two orders, two parenting plans, or two settlement proposals.
How are protected addresses handled?
Record a confidential address on the Safety & Protection page and it displays as Protected Address — Restricted. Protected addresses are never loaded into the AI's context, and they are removed from generated documents unless you mark the address for use in pleadings.
Does Legasus use my state's family law terms?
When a matter has a state, labels follow it: for example, Allocation of Parental Responsibilities and Maintenance in Illinois, and Conservatorship and Spousal Maintenance in Texas. The built-in labels are a starting point for Illinois, Texas, and California, and your firm can override them. Statutory requirements still need attorney review.
Does Legasus run conflict checks for family matters?
Conflict Check is one of the 18 family matter statuses, and running the conflict check is the first task on every starting checklist, with a status of Pending, Cleared, Conflict Identified, Waiver Required, or Waived. The search itself is done by your team; Legasus does not run an automated conflict search.
