Task management
Legal task management, built around the matter.
Board, table, and timeline views over the same tasks. When a matter changes phase, Legasus proposes the next steps, and nothing is added until you approve it. Time is logged as work moves.
01 · Views
Same tasks. Three views.
Sort and filter in the table, drag cards across the board, or plan start to due on the timeline. Switching views changes how you see the work, never the work itself.

Table
Sort by priority, status, or due date. Filter by matter, priority, status, and due window: today, this week, this month, or overdue. Your filters are remembered in this browser.
Board
Four lanes: To Do, In Progress, On Hold, and Done. Drag a card to another lane and its status changes with it.
Timeline
Each task is a bar from its start date to its due date, with today marked. Zoom by day, week, or month.
02 · Proposals
The next steps arrive as proposals.
Move a matter to a new phase and Legasus proposes the tasks that phase needs, with due dates counted from the day it changed. Approve what fits, dismiss what doesn't. Nothing lands on the board until someone says yes.

Where tasks come from
Only phase templates and the Assistant go through approval. Everything else is a task someone chose to create.

03 · Time & history
Time logs itself. History keeps itself.
Move a task to In Progress and a work session starts. On Hold pauses it, Done closes it, and reopening picks it back up. Edits are recorded field by field, with who made them, the old value, the new value, and when.
Automatic sessions
Status changes start, pause, resume, and close work sessions. There is no timer to remember.
Field-level history
Changes to status, due date, assignee, and priority are listed with the old value, the new value, who, and when.

04 · FAQ
Legal task management, answered.
What the task module does today, in plain terms.
01Can I switch between board, table, and timeline?
Yes. All three views show the same tasks, so switching changes the layout, not the data. The table sorts by priority, status, or due date. The board has four status lanes you can drag cards between. The timeline draws each task from its start date to its due date, with day, week, and month zoom.
02What statuses and priorities can a task have?
Four statuses: To Do, In Progress, On Hold, and Done. Three priorities: Low, Medium, and High. Each task also has one assignee, a start date, a due date, and the matter it belongs to.
03Does the AI add tasks on its own?
No. When a matter changes phase, or when you ask the Legasus Assistant for help, suggested tasks arrive as proposals. They wait in the Assistant tab on the tasks page and in the Agent Queue until someone approves or dismisses each one. Nothing is added to your list without that approval.
04Where do suggested tasks come from?
Two places. Phase templates propose the tasks a matter needs when it moves to a new phase, with templates for Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, and Litigation matters. The Legasus Assistant can also propose a task from a chat. Tasks you create from an email thread, an intake conversion, or a real estate critical date come from an action you took, so there is nothing extra to approve.
05How does time tracking work?
Legasus logs work sessions from status changes. Moving a task to In Progress starts a session, On Hold pauses it, Done closes it, and reopening a task starts it again. Open a task to see its active time, total time, and number of sessions. There is no timer to start or stop.
06What does a task's activity history show?
When someone edits a task, its activity history records the field that changed, the old value, the new value, who made the change, and when. Status, due date, assignee, and priority changes all appear there, next to the task's work sessions.
07Who can see a task?
Tasks are scoped to your firm's organization. Your task list shows the tasks you created and the tasks assigned to you, and each task has a single assignee.
08Do upcoming deadlines show on the tasks page?
Yes. Deadlines from your calendar for the next 30 days appear on the tasks page, so the work and the dates it serves sit side by side.
